Michael Belgrave, MDiv, MEd (Counselling),
Michael brings over twenty years of diverse counselling experience with individuals of all ages, couples, families and groups, both in business and in personal settings. He is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (through the Canadian Counselling Association) and is a Registered Counselling Therapist - Candidate (with the Nova Scotia Association of Counselling Therapists).
His education and expertise in issues of spirituality, meaning and values have provided the opportunity to accompany many on their journeys through illness, grief and loss, and career and other life changes. Specialized training in compassion fatigue has given him tools to assist people, particularly those in helping professions, who are experiencing job stress and burnout, and other ?osts of caring. Years of working with couples at all stages of their relationships has led him to a focus and framework that centres on helping partners to recognize and change their patterns of interaction. His varied background and training lets him bring a creative orientation and a spirit of hope and optimism to helping parents and children who are involved with foster care, adoption, and family transitions of all kinds.
As a therapist, Michael passionately believes that building on our relationships and drawing on our strengths and resources can lead us to finding new direction and to becoming more confident, hopeful and fulfilled in our decisions, choices and interactions.
