Making a referral is easy. Clients may be self-referred or referred by a health professional. Choose the method below that best suits your needs. It is only necessary to make a referral using ONE method.

Via the Web:
Click on one of the buttons above to use our secure form to refer yourself or one of your clients. Once you have submitted the form you will be contacted about your referral by our office. PLEASE NOTE: To make a professional referral you will need a password. Please contact our office to obtain a user name and password to access this feature.

By email:
You may also request referral information by sending the request by email. You will receive follow-up contact from our Office Administrator to obtain additional information.

By Telephone:
To make a referral by telephone, please speak with our Office Administrator at (902) 455-9939. If the Office Administrator is not available to take your call, please leave a message on our confidential answering service. Please state that your call is for the purpose of making a referral. Be sure to include your name and preferred telephone number. Let us know if it is acceptable to leave a message. The Office Administrator will return your call as soon as possible. Pertinent referral information will be recorded on a referral form.

The Referral Procedure:
Once the referral information has been received by the Office Administrator it will be provided to the Intake Coordinator. This professional will bring it to the weekly clinical meeting. Following a review of the information, a therapist will be assigned to your case. You will be contacted to make arrangements for an appointment that is convenient to your schedule.

If you request a particular therapist by name, please provide this information when you are making the referral. In most cases, the requested therapist will be assigned to this client. If the requested therapist is unable to see the client within a reasonable time frame, the client will be contacted to discuss his/her options. If the client specifically states a preference for a male or female therapist, this request will be honored.

If a client is in crisis and requires immediate crises intervention, the Intake Coordinator will contact the client on a priority basis to help her/him begin to deal with the crisis and to make arrangements for the earliest possible therapy session.
